This session will equip you with a basic understanding of the nonprofit accounting concepts you need to understand and develop budgets—whether they’re for your organization, your department, or a grant application. This session will cover both theory and application, including model practices from the Standards for Excellence®. Concepts covered will be applicable to organizations of all sizes. You will learn multiple methods for developing a budget, and you will complete this session prepared to construct a revenue and expense budget. You will also be able to explain the board’s role in budgeting.
