Description

Planned giving should be a critical piece of every fundraiser’s donor conversations. Yet, many fundraisers are leery of promoting planned gifts because they fear they do not have the expertise to properly discuss them, are uncomfortable with “talking about death,” or have concerns that exploring planned gift options with donors may compete with annual and major gift fundraising efforts. The very idea of planned giving can seem overwhelming and complicated. But it doesn’t have to be.

Major and annual giving fundraisers, Board members and executive directors don’t need to be planned giving experts, but they should be comfortable talking with donors about the basic planned gift types and knowing how to start a planned giving conversation.

In this session, David removes the mystery from the topic of planned giving. You’ll be introduced to basic planned giving terminology and concepts, learn to identify and assess prospective donors, and be given practical information that will allow everyone in your organization to have planned giving conversations with anyone.
