John Hicks, CFRE is Principal and Founder of DLBHICKS LLC, a consulting practice that helps nonprofits build and strengthen grant seeking programs. John is a member of the faculty of Columbia University's MS in Nonprofit Management program and serves as an instructor for Candid where, since 1997, he has trained more than 5,000 individuals in grant writing.  John has been awarded "Stellar Speaker" status by The Council for the Advancement and Support of Education.  He is a former member of the Board of Directors of AFP International and past president AFP’s New York City Chapter. In 2021 John was named the recipient of the Ralph E. Chamberlain Award which honors lifetime service to AFP New York City and the fundraising profession.
