Doris is the Vice President of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access Strategies (IDEAS) and strategic Partnerships at the Philadelphia Orchestra. In her role, she establishes and implements ways to create a more inclusive and diverse culture at the Orchestra, based on data-driven methodologies to drive sustainable change. Guided by the Philadelphia Orchestra values, Doris cultivates and deepens relationships with government funding agencies and industry partners.Doris joined the Philadelphia Orchestra in 2011 as Senior Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, in which she secured over $10 million to underpin the Orchestra's core programming and special projects. In 2017, Doris began a new role at the Orchestra as Senior Managing Director of Institutional Development, in which she led all facets of a multi-year fundraising and engagement strategy that resulted in sustainable long-term growth in philanthropic contributions, further deepening the institutional donor experience and commitments to the Orchestra.  In addition, Doris served as the lead fundraising professional for the Orchestra's Education and Community Engagement department, working closely with its Director to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors (including individuals, corporations, foundations, government agencies, and other organizations) in support of its education and community-based programs.Doris came to the Orchestra after almost a decade at Gallaudet University in Washington DC.  Doris held the position of Associate Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations, and also served as their Interim Director of Development. Her professional highlights at Gallaudet included securing over $16 million for University priorities and initiatives; working with the Board of Trustees and Board of Associates members to secure new and sustain corporate and foundation gifts; and leading a feasibility study of corporate and foundation prospects for the capital campaign resulting in achieving their $31 million goal.Prior to her role with Gallaudet University, Doris was a development associate at the Water Environment Research Foundation, where she enacted strategies to obtain funding for endowment and research programs, as well as to secure new donors. Doris also spent over six years at the National 4-H Council, serving as a lead strategist for national youth programs.          Doris serves on several nonprofit boards. She assumed the role of President for the Association of Fundraising Professionals in Greater Philadelphia, serving over 400 members, in 2021. She also serves on the board of Piffaro, the Renaissance Band, and the Maven Leadership Collective. She holds two bachelor’s degrees in psychology and family studies from the University of Maryland and her master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix.
